With the heat starting to get to us all, we decided to then head to the nearby Langkawi Kraft Komplex, hoping for a little air-conditioned respite. The Kraft Komplex showcases and sells handicraft and artworks from Malaysian craftspeople, and even includes a wedding museum (?!). The highlight was the batik artwork, where we saw how these beautiful artworks are made using wax, ink and water. The girls even got to do some painting thanks to Jas, who let them dabble in a huge underwater tropical fish painting. Given their addition to this one, we actually decided to buy it, the colours are amazing and the girls are excited to bring it home.
The girls then went on to make their own little batik artworks, which they thoroughly enjoyed (and which now have pride of place in the resort room). It was an eventful day at the Kraft Komplex as an Indian dignitary was arriving soon after us (not sure who exactly!), and the place quickly filled with an Indian entourage who were keen to buy almost anything in sight (lucky we got to the fish painting first!).

Off for some quick fish and chips down the road at Scarborough Fish & Chips in Tanjung Rhu, a bustling place right on the beach. If we had time we would have spent the afternoon here and gone for a dip! But we had a 4pm tour booked to go on a boat through the mangrove forests of the Kilim GeoForest Park, so we headed off to make the time.
